Abstract
This research paper aims at identifying the reality of adopting social responsibility dimensions in private universities and their role in achieving institutional distinction. This study has been applied to Gaza University as a case study. The researchers have employed the descriptive analytical approach and used a questionnaire as a tool to collect the data. They also used the total working population as the subjects of the study; a total population of 59 members including all the administrative staff (35) and the permanent academic staff (24). The research has revealed a number of important results such as the high acceptance of all the researched staff members for the levels of social responsibility application; for the relative mean of questionnaire items was equal to (73.12%). The subjects of the study also show their high acceptance of availability level of institutional distinction with a relative mean for all the items equal to (75.73%). The results also show a strong correlation between the level of adoption of social responsibility dimensions and social distinction achievement with a correlation coefficient equal to (.840). The results also show that there are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study subjects’ answers and their personal data. The researchers ended their research by providing a number of recommendations that support the adoption of private universities for social responsibility which greatly supports their institutional distinction in all its components.
