Abstract

Abstract

The research examined the impact of talent management on staff performance and competitive advantage at Gaza University. The study aimed to identify the level of talent management, staff performance, and competitive advantage at Gaza University. The problem of the study was the result of feeling and familiarizing of the researcher with the programmers and services offered by Gaza University and comparing them with those offered by other universities, such as the Islamic University and Al-Azhar University, which enjoy public confidence and are internationally rated institutions

The researcher felt that the university's performance is not at the expected level of it and the university's competitive position is weak also, this may be due to the lack of talent management in the scientific form. The hypotheses of the study represented on the first major hypothesis that there is a statistically significant relationship between talent management and staff performance at Gaza University, and from this hypothesis, the following hypotheses emerge, there is a statistically significant relationship between attracting talent and the performance of workers at Gaza University, there is a statistically significant relationship between talent development and the performance of workers at Gaza University.

 The second major hypothesis, there is a statistically significant relationship between talent management and competitive advantage at Gaza University, and from it emerge the following hypotheses, there is a statistically significant relationship between talent attraction and competitive advantage at Gaza University, there is a statistically significant relationship between talent development and competitive advantage at Gaza University, and there is a statistically significant relationship between talent maintenance and competitive advantage at Gaza University. the third major hypothesis, there are differences between the average estimates of the study sample members on management talent, staff performance, and competitive advantage at Gaza University are attributed to the following  variables (gender, age, scientific qualification, years of service, a recipe for work)

The results of the study showed that:

First, there was a positive impact of talent management areas (talent attraction, talent development, talent maintenance) on staff performance and the competitive advantage of Gaza University.

Second, the level of talent management, staff performance, and competitive advantage at Gaza University was comparatively high. Also, Gaza University is characterized by the proactive launching of academic programs and is away from the tradition in designing and implementing programs.

The study recommended a regular local conference entitled "Managing Academic Talent in light of  Current Challenges" and hold continuous meetings with a talent to discuss their needs and talent development requirements, a review of recruitment and recruitment policies to match talent attraction requirements according to the university's needs.
